SSAA WA is the largest shooting organisation in Western Australia.
As the peak shooting body in Western Australia our role is to responsibly act as a strong and credible voice to represent and promote the shooting sports to the public, community, media, Government and authorities within WA. We aim to educate the general public about our sport and dispel some of the misconceptions surrounding guns and the shooting community.
With over 70 clubs and more than 13,000 members within the state, we are passionate about the safe, fun and unique range of shooting sports that are available to everyone who participates in our sport including target shooting - rifle, shotgun and pistol; hunting; conservation and wildlife management and collecting. As such we can boast the fastest growing and most robust shooting population in Australia.
SSAA WA plays an important role in educating people in the skills of hunting, shooting and safe handling of firearms; providing hunting and conservation opportunities for our members; encouraging all hunters to abide by a strict code of ethics; working for a better understanding between landholders and hunters; actively and assisting appropriate authorities in pest management programs.
Our members come from all walks of life from doctors to tradesmen and labourers to company directors. As well as the main benefits of being a member, your membership also gives us strength to lobby the State and Federal Governments on matters that affect our sport.
The greater our membership, the more effective we are.
We encourage all shooters to join us to help protect our sport.
